Mr. Robert A. Touey, M.A., Headmaster
robert_toueyMr. Touey is a graduate of Villanova University where he earned a Liberal Arts degree.  He holds a Masters degree in Social Studies Education from St. Joseph’s University.  He has twenty years experience working in Catholic Education as a teacher, curriculum coordinator, and parish council member.  He has been a member of the World Affairs Council Schools of Excellence team and took part in the World Affairs Council Phila-Nipponica Project, an immersive study of Japanese culture.  He has also immersed himself in study of the Jewish faith through the eyes of a Catholic Educator as a Connelly Scholar sponsored by the  Connelly Foundation, Villanova University, and Gratz College. Mr. Touey is dedicated to high quality Catholic Education.
 
Dr. M. Michele McCauley, Ph.D., Science Teacher, Grades K – 8
michele_mccauleyDr. McCauley received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from New College in Sarasota, Florida in 1980 and earned Masters of Science (1984) and Doctor of Philosophy (1987) degrees in Botany from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Dr. McCauley held Fellowships from the National Science Foundation while conducting both her graduate research at Wisconsin and her post-doctoral research at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.  Prior to coming to Regina Angelorum Academy, Dr. McCauley’s teaching experience included two years teaching botany to college students as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Wisconsin, three years homeschooling, two years teaching CCD at St. Isaac Jogues Parish in Wayne, PA and eighteen years of being a mother.  In addition, she was the coordinator of the nature program for the Cub Scout Summer Camp at Camp Jarvis for three summers.  Finally, Dr. McCauley and her husband taught Natural Family Planning as a teaching couple for The Couple to Couple League for 5 years.  Dr. McCauley views the natural world as a reflection of God’s majesty and order and tries to impart this view to her students.
 
Mr. Christopher Keefe, B.A., Grade 5
chris_keefeMr. Keefe earned his B.A. in liberal arts while discerning a vocation to the priesthood in Connecticut.  He then earned his Bachelor of Philosophy degree from the Pontifical Atheneum Regina Apostolorum in Rome, Italy.  He has taught Latin, Spanish, Italian, and English as well as high school Theology.  He now seeks to transmit his love for language and learning to the students.
 
Miss Gwyneth Owen, B.A., Grades 3 & 4
gwyneth_owenMiss Owen graduated from Thomas Aquinas College with a B.A. in the Liberal Arts.  Her previous teaching experience includes volunteering as a teacher in her parish’s religious education program.  In addition, she spent a summer teaching English to students and seminarians at Ukrainian Catholic University in L’viv, Ukraine.  Aside from teaching, she has enjoyed working with children for many years as a girls’ soccer coach and art tutor.  She is grateful to be teaching within the context of a Catholic and Classical curriculum which affords her the opportunity to communicate her love and enthusiasm for the Great Books as well as the tradition of Catholic thought on a daily basis.
 
Mrs. Carol Napier, M.A., Consultant
carol_napierMrs. Napier earned a B.S. degree from The University of Memphis and a Masters degree from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.  She taught in the Shelby County Schools and Davidson County Schools for fourteen years.  After moving to Philadelphia, she worked with homeschooling families.  She is excited about the opportunity to teach in a Catholic school that emphasizes both strong academics and faith development.
 
Mrs. Marie Spearing MacLacklin, M.A., Pre-K and Kindergarten
marie_maclacklinMrs. MacLacklin has taught Kindergarten, First Grade, and Pre-K Headstart in the Philadelphia Public Schools.  She has specialized in early childhood literacy and her work is informed by Marie Clay’s Reading Recovery Method, the Children’s Literacy Initiative, and The Creative Curriculum For Preschool, by Diane Trister Dodge, Laura J. Colker, and Cate Heroman.  Mrs. MacLacklin holds a Masters degree in Elementary Education from Temple University.
 
Mrs. Marcela Fitzpatrick, B.A., Spanish Teacher – Grades Pre-K, K, lst, and 2nd
marcela_fitzpatrickMrs. Fitzpatrick is a native of Chile, and studied English at the Universidad de La Serena.  This is her second year as the Spanish Teacher for the Pre-K, K, First Grade and Second Grade children at Regina Angelorum Academy.  It has been a great experience for her and a real privilege to be part of a close-knit team bringing the joys of classical Catholic education to a new generation of students.
 
Mrs. Regina Miller, B.F.A., Art Teacher - Grades Pre-K through 8
regina_millerMrs. Miller earned her Associates Degree in business from Pennsylvania Business Institute and a BFA from Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia.  She has also studied art at The School of Visual Arts in New York City.  She has taught and worked in private and public schools for four years.  She has five years experience in Early Intervention in O.T., P.T., and Speech.  Her training is from  Montgomery County I.U. and A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, DE.
 
Mrs. Ann-Marie Altomare, B.S., Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, Grades Pre-K through 2 Kindergarten Math
ann-marie_altemoreMrs. Altomare graduated from Villanova University with a degree in Math and concentration in Computer Science.  She completed a formation course for Catechists in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd serving children three to six years of age. She worked as an assistant in an Atrium for two years and homeschooled her children for eight years.  She has also taught for six years as a catechist in her parish.  This is Ann-Marie’s second year teaching  at Regina Angelorum Academy.  Teaching at Regina Angelorum Academy fulfills her desire to be used by God, to see young people fall in love with their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and grow in the richness of their Catholic faith.
 
Mrs. Nina Muto, M.A., Music Teacher, Grades Pre K through 8
ninamutoMrs. Muto studied classical piano for over twenty years and has been teaching  for eight years.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in Music Theory/Composition and a Masters degree in Piano, both from Temple University.  It is a blessing to have Mrs. Muto as a part of the Regina Angelorum family.  Our small class sizes allow teachers to truly get to know each student as an individual.  The faculty, students, and core educational beliefs of our school make it a wonderful, Catholic teaching environment.  Our music program is designed to expose students to beautiful sacred and secular music, from Gregorian Chant to Beethoven.  In addition, students are taught the fundamentals of music theory so that they may be well-equipped to pursue personal music interests of their choice in the future.
